Environmental Microbiologist

As an environmental microbiologist, I work with microbes that shape water, ecosystems, and human health—from Vibrio cholerae to bacteriophages like ICP1, and the unseen communities revealed through metagenomics. My current research explores groundwater microbiomes and their hidden functions.
Beyond environmental systems, I am deeply interested in oncology—particularly colorectal cancer. I explore how microbial communities influence the tumor microenvironment in the colon,
